Hey there, my old man has come up with a genre of movies called "Movies that end with a Mushroom Cloud". He noticed that there are a lot of good movies that end with a mushroom cloud, and they all share the same dystopian future! some movies include
Dr. Strangelove
Mad Max
Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior)
20,000 Leagues under the Sea
Terminator 3
and more! anybody got more movies to add to the list?

Sat, July 10, 2004 - 3:46 PMTwister.
Day After Tomorrow wasn't that effective, i didn't feel a strong sense of dying or anything. all just a play on graphic effects -

Re: Apocalyptic Movies
Fri, August 13, 2004 - 10:50 PM"just a play on graphic effects" kind of sounds like twister as well ;) actually, i liked twister. ever see "the core"? don't. i had to see it for science class when it came out. it sucked. and i actually had to pay to sit through that. -

No dialogue, b&w. Think Road Warrior sans cars.

Re: Apocalyptic Movies
Thu, October 14, 2004 - 2:22 AMBlood of Heroes is a great movie. It is a little slow. but it is cool. Did anyone see "The Ultimate Warrior" made in 1975 with Yul Brynner, Max Van sydow and Will Smith?
basic plot:
Atomic holocaust is not the only plague that threatens our future. New York City, 2012 A.D.: In a devastated world, one tired man finds a reason to fight.Only a few people still live in New York in 2012. They are organised in gangs with their own turf. One of them is led by Baron, another one by Carrot, and they are constantly at war with each other.
This was a great movie.

Re: Apocalyptic Movies
Mon, July 30, 2007 - 4:53 PMI saw that The Day After was mentioned. To complete the trinity of nuclear holocaust movies you need Testament and Threads. Threads is really cheesy though. Testament is the most striking. It's not graphic, but really intense. -

Sun, April 27, 2008 - 9:25 PMD. Alley is like a cold I catch about annually. Love it..right up until the writers cave and bring everyone into a Canadian border garden of eden......too cheezy, m-a-a-an.
